The follow-up of my remarks on discharging the treated water—stored at Fukushima Nuclear Power Station—into the Pacific Ocean

投稿日:2020年1月20日 更新日:

Four months have passed since I remarked on the need of discharging the treated water, which is now stored at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, into the Pacific Ocean. There have been various discussions on how to deal with the treated water, and the issue is now under formal discussion at the subcommittee in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). It seems that the subcommittee will conclude that there is no other choice except discharging the treated water into the Pacific Ocean. The sooner the subcommittee concludes, the better.

The Sankei Shimbun carried an editorial article on January 14 which supported my remarks, referring to my name.
