The Ceremony of the Enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor will be held today, October 22, and people’s excitement is growing. Many foreign honorable guests including heads of state, royal families, and parliamentary members have arrived in Japan one after another during the past several days.
Yesterday, on October 21, I, as the Chairman of the Japan-El Salvador Parliamentary Friendship League, held a welcome meeting for the delegation led by H. E. Mr. Felix Ulloa, Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador. The Vice President was accompanied by H.E. Ms. Ana Geraldina Beneke Castaneda, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Integration & Economic Development, H. E. Ms. Martha Lidia Zelayandia Cisneros, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to Japan, and others. From the Japanese side, I, as the Chairman of the League, Mr. Motoo Hayashi, Acting Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party, and Dr. Keitaro Ohno, Chief Secretary of the Japan-El Salvador Parliamentary Friendship League, attended the meeting.
It was really a pleasant time for us to exchange conversations while having meals together. We were requested to strengthen our current support for El Salvador, and promote further cooperation between the two countries.
