The committee on abduction issue was held at the headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party on May 9. All members of the committee were seriously worried about the issue, and were determined that all abductees should be rescued by all means at the summit meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong-un in June.
I said, “We should find a clue for the release of Japanese abductees by all means at the summit meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong-un. While the US is making efforts to require Kim Jong-un to release three American abductees prior to the release of Japanese abductees, we should strongly propose Kim Jong-un, through Present Trump, not to delay the release of Japanese abductees. All members of the committee unanimously agreed to my proposal, saying “We all agree to Mr. Harada’s proposal. Let’s do our best!”
At night, President Trump announced that three American abductees had been released by Kim Jong-un, and they would be brought back to the US with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
